Oyebanji accounts for stewardship ahead of gov poll, says promises kept

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has formally presented an account of his stewardship, declaring that his administration has successfully delivered on its campaign promises over the past three and a half years. Speaking in a statewide broadcast, Oyebanji highlighted his government's adherence to a six-point agenda, which he stated forms the bedrock of good governance and development in the state.

I am glad to remark that we have kept our promises on these pillars. Good governance is the bedrock of development.

As the All Progressives Congress candidate for the upcoming June 20 governorship election, Oyebanji is seeking a renewed mandate for another four-year term. He expressed pride in the administration's achievements and confidence that a second term would enable the expansion of socioeconomic plans. "I want to humbly request that you renew the Shared Prosperity Mandate you gave us four years ago by another four years," he urged the citizens, known as Ekiti kete.

Oyebanji emphasized the administration's faithfulness to its social contract, citing the "rains of commendations" received for their accomplishments. He noted the overwhelming goodwill and support from across the state, which he said fuels a commitment to serve even better. The governor believes the solid foundation laid for economic prosperity will lead to a higher velocity of development and faster service delivery with a new mandate.

While we are proud of the landmark achievements we have recorded in the last four years, I am very confident that with another four years of your mandate, we will be able to take the socioeconomic plans of our administration to a greater heights.

Looking ahead, Oyebanji outlined plans to complete ongoing projects, entrench policy initiatives, pursue new visions, and open new frontiers of development, all in line with the state's 30-year Development Plan. He also appealed to all stakeholders, political parties, election observers, and security agencies to conduct themselves professionally and with decorum to ensure the election and its aftermath remain peaceful. Oyebanji commended President Bola Tinubu and the First Lady for their "invaluable support."

So far, this current political electioneering has been the most peaceful in the history of our state, and we must do everything to ensure that the election and post-election activities remain peaceful.
