Oyo promotes 1,535 LG workers

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde's administration has advanced the careers of 1,535 local government workers by issuing promotion letters as part of the 2025 promotion exercise. The Oyo State Local Government Service Commission distributed these letters to staff across all 33 local government areas.

The promotion is a clear demonstration of the present administration’s commitment to building a professional, efficient and well-motivated local government workforce capable of delivering quality service to the people at the grassroots.

The promotions cover a range of grades, from Level 06 to 17, and benefit staff within the commission and across seven key departments. These departments include Administration and General Services, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Budget Planning Research and Statistics, Education and Social Services, Environmental Health Services, Finance and Supplies, and Works Housing Lands and Survey.

Presenting the letters, the commission's Chairman, Bashorun Akinwole, stated that the exercise aligns with Governor Makinde's dedication to workers' welfare, motivation, and career advancement. He described the promotions as a clear demonstration of the administration's commitment to fostering a professional, efficient, and well-motivated local government workforce capable of delivering quality grassroots services.

Akinwole urged the newly promoted officers to view their advancement as both a reward for their past diligence and an impetus for greater responsibility in their service delivery. He reiterated the commission's commitment to regular and timely promotion exercises, capacity building, and enhancing welfare packages, consistent with the Omituntun 2.0 agenda of the Makinde administration.
