Oyo State partners with VIYA Health to boost family planning access

VIYA Health, the exclusive distributor of Incepta Pharmaceutical's WHO-prequalified family planning solution, DMPA SC (Medogen SubQ), in Nigeria, has engaged in strategic discussions with the Oyo State Primary Healthcare Board. The aim is to broaden access to quality and affordable family planning services throughout the state.

The stakeholder engagement session, held on August 6, 2026, at the Oyo State Primary Healthcare Board in Ibadan, centered on increasing the availability of Medogen SubQ. This product's World Health Organization prequalification signifies adherence to stringent international standards, assuring healthcare providers and women of a safe, effective, and accessible contraceptive option.

Dr. Muideen Babatunde Olatunji, Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Primary Healthcare Board, welcomed the collaboration, highlighting the state's consistent openness to family planning initiatives. He reaffirmed the state's dedication to investing in health commodities, including family planning products, and fostering partnerships in public health. Dr. Olatunji noted that enhancing access to diverse, safe, and affordable family planning options through the state's primary health centers will bolster efforts to improve maternal and child health outcomes and empower individuals in making informed reproductive health decisions.
