Pakistan Forces Kill 11 Terrorists in North Waziristan Operation

Pakistani security forces have eliminated 11 terrorists in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, within the last 48 hours, according to the military's Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The ISPR statement detailed that security forces engaged multiple terrorist locations as part of intelligence-based operations. "Following intense and fierce exchanges of fire, eleven khawarij belonging to India-sponsored Fitna-al-Khawarij were effectively neutralised," the statement read. The term "Fitna-al-Khawarij" is used by the state to refer to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists, who were reportedly involved in numerous terrorist activities in the region. The ISPR emphasized that "sanitisation operations continue to eliminate holed up khawarij from these areas." This relentless counter-terrorism campaign, operating under the vision of 'Azm-i-Istehkam' as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan, aims to eradicate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from Pakistan. This operation follows another significant engagement earlier in the week, where security forces killed 22 India-sponsored terrorists in North Waziristan. As militancy persists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, often targeting security personnel, the state has intensified its counter-terrorism efforts. Last week, five soldiers, including a major, were killed during an operation in Balochistan's Barkhan district. Subsequently, Balochistan authorities reported the arrest of three commanders of Balochistan-based terrorist groups and the killing of 35 of their operatives. Earlier this month, five terrorists were killed in separate incidents in KP's Tank and Dera Ismail Khan districts. In early April, eight terrorists were killed along the Pak-Afghan border in North Waziristan, underscoring the ongoing security challenges in the region.
