Pakistan Security Forces Kill 32 Terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan Operations

Pakistan's security forces have eliminated 32 terrorists during operations in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan within the last 24 hours, according to the military's Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The operations were described as "comprehensive joint operations" targeting what the ISPR terms the "terrorists nexus of India-sponsored Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan."

The ISPR uses 'Fitna-al-Khawarij' to refer to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), while groups based in Balochistan are designated 'Fitna-al-Hindustan' to underscore Pakistan's allegations of India's involvement in terrorism. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Khyber district, 24 terrorists belonging to 'Fitna-al-Khawarij' were killed during intelligence-based operations on July 28 and 29. Simultaneously, eight terrorists associated with 'Fitna-al-Hindustan' were killed in Balochistan's Nushki following an "intense engagement" during multiple intelligence-based operations.

Weapons, ammunition, and improvised explosive devices were recovered and destroyed during these operations. The ISPR stated that sanitization operations are ongoing to find any remaining "India-sponsored terrorists." The statement affirmed a "relentless counter-terrorism campaign" under the 'Azm-i-Istehkam' vision, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan, to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism.

These operations occur amidst ongoing security challenges in both provinces. Earlier in July, security forces launched Operation Shaban in Balochistan after an attack on a police post resulted in the kidnapping and killing of 27 police officers. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security forces foiled an attempt by terrorists to breach a joint police checkpost in Tank on July 24, killing 12 terrorists.

Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other India-sponsored terrorist found in the area. Relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision ‘Azm-i-Istehkam’ (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
