Palestinian official fears US replicating Israeli strategy of boosting Hamas over PA

The official, speaking to The Times of Israel, indicated that this approach risks undermining the PA's standing and legitimacy. The perceived sidelining of the PA in favor of engagement with Hamas, particularly by key figures involved in regional diplomacy, has fueled anxieties about a shift in US policy that could further destabilize the Palestinian political landscape.

Meanwhile, Kushner reportedly advised the PA to focus on implementing reforms. However, the Palestinian official countered by accusing Israeli authorities of actively obstructing the PA's efforts to enact such reforms. This exchange highlights a deep-seated tension and mistrust between the parties involved, with accusations of deliberate hindrance complicating efforts toward Palestinian self-governance and stability.
