Palestino beats Magallanes amid multiple red cards to stay in Copa Chile contention

Palestino secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Magallanes in the Copa Chile group stage, maintaining their hopes in Group G. The match was marked by a series of red cards, significantly impacting the game's dynamics.

Facundo Peraza opened the scoring for Magallanes in the 16th minute. However, the game intensified with simultaneous expulsions of Enzo Roco for Palestino and Jeremias Griffiths for Magallanes in the 24th minute. Despite being a man down, Palestino managed to turn the score around before halftime. Albert Gómez equalized in the 34th minute, and Gonzalo Tapia scored in first-half stoppage time, giving Palestino a 2-1 lead.
