Pan-Atlantic University, NNPC partner on environmental discourse

Pan-Atlantic University's Centre for Media and Communication Research, in collaboration with the NNPC Foundation, is set to host the 2nd NNPC Foundation Symposium on Energy and Environmental Communication. The two-day event, scheduled for June 10-11, aims to foster sustainable environmental communication practices among stakeholders across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones.

As a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of the NNPC Foundation, the symposium will serve as a crucial platform for dialogue on the intersection of energy and environmental communication and their impact on national development. Discussions will explore how effective communication strategies can contribute to mitigating climate change issues and promoting environmental health globally.

Professor Nelson Okorie, Director of the Centre for Media and Communication Research, highlighted the significance of environmental communication in modern societies. He stated that scholars recognize its role as a catalyst for promoting environmental adaptation, conservation, and biodiversity. The symposium is expected to build a network of development experts dedicated to advancing Nigeria's environmental sustainability objectives and contributing to global efforts.
