Panama Announces Fuel Price Reduction Effective Friday

Panama's Energy Secretariat has announced a welcome reduction in fuel prices, set to take effect on Friday, June 12. This marks a positive development for consumers as gasoline and diesel costs see a slight decrease.

The price adjustment will see gasoline with 95 octane drop by 0.12 cents, settling at B/.1.22 per liter. Gasoline with 91 octane will also become cheaper, falling by 0.11 cents to B/.1.14 per liter. Diesel fuel, specifically the low-sulfur variety, will experience a reduction of 0.07 cents, bringing its price to B/.1.21 per liter.

These new rates are scheduled to remain in place until 5:59 a.m. on Friday, June 26, when the next price update will occur. The fluctuations in fuel costs are largely attributed to the dynamics of the international oil market, where factors such as supply reductions and geopolitical volatility play a significant role in shaping global prices.
