Panama gears up to host Women Innovation & Sustainability Summit 2026

Panama City is set to become a central hub for innovation and business as it prepares to host the Women Innovation & Sustainability Summit (WISS Latam) on August 26-27, 2026. The event, organized by the Cámara del Pacífico, promises to be one of Latin America's most significant business gatherings, focusing on innovation, technology, sustainability, and business development.

The official launch of WISS Latam 2026 took place on June 16, 2026, at the residence of the Moroccan Ambassador to Panama, Bouchra Boudchiche. The gathering brought together key figures from the business, diplomatic, and institutional sectors, signaling Panama's growing role in international dialogue and opportunity generation. Ambassador Boudchiche and Diana María Olaya, President of WISS Latam 2026, delivered welcoming remarks.

A notable presence at the launch was Ilya Espino de Marotta, the newly appointed administrator of the Panama Canal Authority. As the first woman to lead this strategic institution, her appointment was highlighted as a historic achievement and an inspiration for future generations. Also sharing insights were Miguel Bolinaga, president of AES Panamá, and Larú Linares, manager of Female and Social Entrepreneurship at Fundación Ciudad del Saber, both members of the WISS Latam Panamá Board of Directors.

Under the theme "Global Trends, Technology, and Business," WISS Latam 2026 anticipates participation from over 12 countries, featuring more than 30 national and international speakers. The summit aims to attract over 1,250 attendees, including more than 40 panelists and 120 international guests. Delegations from countries like Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, and Spain are expected, alongside numerous allies and partners, reinforcing Panama's position as a key venue for international alliances, investment, and cooperation.
