Panama's Ministry of Education signs sports development agreements

Panama's Ministry of Education (Meduca) has forged significant partnerships with national sports federations, aiming to bolster school sports programs and enhance educational and training opportunities across the country. The agreements were formalized during a press conference for the 2026 Meduca Intercollegiate Games.

One key accord was signed with the Panamanian Football Federation (FPF). This initiative will focus on improving the training of physical education teachers and promoting football within educational institutions, fostering talent from early stages.

Additionally, agreements were officially established with the Panamanian Basketball Federation (FEPABA) and the Panamanian Tennis Federation. These federations will collaborate with Meduca to strengthen their respective sports within the educational system. The pacts include provisions for training, organizing competitions, and promoting programs that encourage youth participation in sports.

Officials emphasized that these alliances are crucial for establishing the 2026 Meduca Intercollegiate Games as a platform for identifying and developing new athletes. The partnerships also aim to instill values such as teamwork, discipline, respect, and fair competition. With the inclusion of football, basketball, and tennis federations, the program continues to expand its reach, underscoring the commitment of both sports and educational institutions to the growth of school sports in Panama and the holistic development of future generations.
