Panama U-20 team seeks recovery against Jamaica in Concacaf Championship

Panama's U-20 men's national football team is gearing up for a crucial second match in the Concacaf U-20 Championship, aiming to rebound from an opening-day defeat. The squad faces Jamaica on Wednesday, seeking their first points in the tournament after a disappointing 3-0 loss to Canada.

The team's debut match, held at the Estadio Universitario BUAP in Puebla, Mexico, saw them fall behind early. Canada's Emrick Fotsing scored in the ninth minute from a corner, and Liam Mackenzie doubled the lead with a penalty in the 14th minute. Panama's challenges were compounded when captain Oliver Campos received a second yellow card in first-half stoppage time, leaving the team to play the remainder of the match with ten men. Fotsing sealed the victory with his second goal in the 90+5 minute.

Under coach Mike Stump, Panama is focused on rectifying the errors made against Canada. Their preparation includes recovery sessions, gym work for reserves, and detailed video analysis to strategize for the upcoming game against Jamaica.
