Panamanian driver Óscar Terán targets more power for National Championship challenge

Panamanian driver Óscar Terán and his team are intensely focused on enhancing his Mazda 6 for the upcoming fourth round of the National Automobile Championship. Terán, a seasoned competitor, aims to boost his car's engine power to overcome the weight disadvantage compared to other vehicles in the field.

"We are currently working on the engine to give it a bit more power, as the car is very heavy and it's difficult to be competitive with such a weight difference compared to other cars," Terán stated. He added that the initial strategy was not to overstress the engine, having experienced powertrain issues in previous years, but now feels those problems are behind them.

Terán has shown strong recent performances, placing him among the leaders in the ST3 category. He arrives at this competition with significant improvements to his Mazda 6, particularly in the engine, as he seeks to gain more power. "We are just going to make some adjustments to the computer to get a few more horsepower and use the practice sessions to improve the car's grip and rotation," he explained.

The championship is heating up, with César Salazar leading the ST3 standings with 82 points. Terán is a close second with 70 points, just twelve behind, while Roberto Sandoval follows in third with 54 points. The mechanical team, led by Alejandro Torres and Lito Davis, is working on fine-tuning the car's computer systems and suspension for optimal performance.
