Panamanian Teenager Juan Moltó Begins Pre-Season with Spanish Club Extremadura

Panamanian footballer Juan Antonio Moltó Castrellón has embarked on a significant new chapter in his burgeoning career, joining Spanish club CD Extremadura for pre-season training. The 18-year-old midfielder, who has been invited to train with the team currently competing in the Primera Federación (Spain's third tier), is taking a major stride towards his goal of playing professional football internationally.

Moltó, who has long harbored ambitions of playing in Europe, views this opportunity with the historic CD Extremadura as a dream come true. "My dream was always to play in Europe, especially in Spain, because I believe it is one of the best places to bring out the best version of oneself as a footballer. That this opportunity has come with such a large and historic club like CD Extremadura is a dream come true," he expressed. He believes Spain offers a competitive environment conducive to player development.

The young Panamanian emphasized that this move is not only a personal achievement but also a testament to his family's unwavering support throughout his journey. "Taking this leap means a lot to me and my family. They always did everything possible to support me and help me pursue this dream. Today, I feel that this step also belongs to them," Moltó acknowledged, recognizing their sacrifices.

Moltó's football journey began at the Academia Costa del Este in Panama, where he developed his skills through various youth tournaments. He later moved to Spain, joining the IDA Valencia academy before playing for the youth team of Unió Esportiva Vall de Uxó (UDE). His performances there caught the attention of scouts, leading to this pre-season opportunity with CD Extremadura. He anticipates learning immensely from experienced players within the squad, stating, "I know this team will bring me a lot of experience. Sharing with players who have many years in these categories, and even some who have played in the Second Division, is a source of pride and an opportunity to keep growing."
