Papua New Guinea prepares for 14th Pride of Women Awards celebrating female achievement

Papua New Guinea is gearing up for the 14th Pride of PNG Women Awards, a flagship event organized by the CPL Foundation Inc. Since its inception in 2007, the awards have become a significant platform for recognizing the impactful contributions of women across the nation.

The CPL Foundation, the non-profit arm of CPL Group, established the awards in partnership with the Post-Courier to honor Papua New Guinean women whose actions create meaningful change. Over the past two decades, the program has celebrated more than 70 exceptional women, embodying the spirit of the awards: "She is the Pride of her Family, the Pride of her Community, and the Pride of PNG."

Following the launch of the 14th awards in May 2026, nominations poured in from across the country, with over 100 entries showcasing remarkable leadership and service. These nominations spanned six distinct award categories: Health and Wellbeing, Rising Star, Bravery and Courage, Enterprise and Innovation, Care and Compassion, and Knowledge and Skills.

An esteemed panel of judges meticulously reviewed the nominations, ultimately selecting 18 outstanding women as finalists. These finalists represent a diverse range of achievements, from grassroots health initiatives and inspiring young leaders to acts of exceptional courage, innovative business ventures, compassionate community support, and the sharing of vital knowledge and skills.
