“Paris is becoming DionCity”: Inside the Red Heads’ headquarters as Céline Dion fever rises

"Céline is back, and so are we!" declares Line Basbous, leader of the Red Heads, as the most devoted members of Céline Dion’s fan community converge on Paris.

Around 1,000 fans are arriving in the city to accompany the star’s return. The core group reached the capital from Montreal, Oslo, Avignon and New York, wearing their distinctive red caps. They gathered at a rented headquarters in central Paris ahead of the launch of Dion’s global residency at the Plénitude Arena.

Seven days before the first show, the mood inside the headquarters is both welcoming and intensely focused. About ten core members are preparing for the arrival of the other fans. The group’s rented base looks out over the rooftops of the capital, while its Gustavian-style interior has cream-colored tile and a piano near the entrance. Visitors remove their shoes before heading inside.

The Red Heads are presented as unusually structured among international fan communities. Their arrival has given Paris a new nickname within the group: DionCity. The gathering is not simply a loose collection of admirers, but an organized operation built around the singer’s return and the first concerts of her residency.
