Park Bom to pursue songwriting, surprises with self-composed track

Park Bom, formerly of the K-pop group 2NE1, is embarking on a new chapter in her music career, announcing her intention to work as a songwriter.

The singer shared the news on her Instagram, expressing a playful "Oh well" attitude towards her new venture. She revealed that the song she posted, titled 'Rainy Day,' was entirely her own creation, from writing the lyrics to composing the melody. Park Bom promised to eventually record and release the song with her own vocals.

'Rainy Day' features lyrics that paint a picture of a solitary day spent indoors due to rain. The song's theme reflects a quiet, introspective mood, with lines describing a day when 'it's raining,' 'everyone is staying home,' and 'no one is outside.'

Park Bom has been active since leaving YG Entertainment in 2016, signing with D-NATION Entertainment in 2018 and releasing tracks like 'Spring,' 'Flower,' and '4:44.' However, she took a hiatus starting in August of the previous year due to health concerns. Her contract with D-NATION was recently terminated, with the agency stating they respected her decision to focus on recovery and future activities.
