KIA Tigers outfielder Park Jae-hyun has broken through a difficult period, achieving his first career milestone of 100 hits. The 20-year-old player had been experiencing a "stubborn nine-game slump," a Korean phrase referring to a period of bad luck or poor performance often associated with the number nine.

Park had been stuck at 99 hits since recording two hits in the first inning against Samsung in Daegu on July 28. He went hitless in 17 consecutive at-bats leading up to the game against Samsung in Gwangju on August 11, managing only one walk during that stretch. The drought had stalled his season statistics, leaving him just short of the significant 100-hit mark.

During the recent game, Park managed to tie the score with a crucial hit and later added a solo home run. Reflecting on his achievement, he expressed a desire for smoother performance moving forward: "I hope things go more smoothly now." With 14 home runs and 18 stolen bases already this season, Park remains optimistic about his potential to reach the '20-20 club,' which requires achieving at least 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases in a single season.
