Parrot Survives 9 Days Under Rubble in Venezuela; Rescue Moment Goes Viral

In the aftermath of the devastating 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24, rescue efforts persist with the hope of finding survivors. Amidst these efforts, a heartwarming video has gone viral, showing the rescue of a small parrot that miraculously survived for nine days trapped under the rubble of a collapsed building in La Guaira.

The parrot was discovered in apartment number 8 of the Opp033 residential area by a team from the Miranda State Fire Department. The emotional moment of rescue, captured in a video shared by the rescue team, shows the bird being given water, which it drank desperately. The team decided to rename the sole survivor from that apartment "Panchito."

While the focus remains on the human toll, with over 2,200 reported deaths and 11,000 injured, and an estimated 50,000 missing according to the UN, the survival of "Panchito" offers a small glimmer of hope amidst the tragedy.
