Partner of Los Pulpos leader could face life sentence in Trujillo kidnapping case

Peruvian prosecutors are seeking a life sentence for Keysi Salvatierra, whom authorities accuse of helping the Los Pulpos criminal organization kidnap a businessman in Trujillo.

Salvatierra, 29, remains held at the women’s prison in Trujillo after her arrest in La Paz, Bolivia, on January 26, 2026. An international arrest warrant accused her of aggravated kidnapping in the case of Alan Ríos Guevara, the son of Sandra Guevara, a former councilwoman in Trujillo’s El Porvenir district.

According to the prosecution’s theory, Salvatierra approached Ríos Guevara while he was working at his stall selling disposable products in the 7 de Junio market. Prosecutors allege that she obtained his telephone number and other personal information, then passed it to members of Los Pulpos so they could follow him. They also accuse her of helping locate the property where the businessman was held.

Ríos Guevara was kidnapped on November 13, 2021, and remained captive for 14 days. His kidnappers demanded $500,000 from his family for his release, and investigators say the family eventually paid. Prosecutors also allege that Salvatierra received part of the ransom and money from other extortion offenses attributed to the organization.

The case forms part of wider investigations into Los Pulpos, which authorities link to kidnappings and extortion in Trujillo. Salvatierra is identified as the partner of Jhonsson Cruz, known as “Jhonsson Pulpo,” and the mother of one of his daughters. Her case is separate from Cruz’s, and a court must still determine whether the allegations are proven with evidence.
