Paul Landon, host of Chilean cultural show 'Tierra Adentro,' dies at 73

Paul Landon, the celebrated journalist and audiovisual producer behind the iconic Chilean program "Tierra Adentro," has died at the age of 73. Landon passed away on Friday at the Clínica Alemana, though the specific cause of his death has not yet been disclosed.

"Tierra Adentro" was a landmark program that first aired on TVN in 1991, captivating audiences with its exploration of Chile's varied regions, cultural practices, and traditions. The show continued its run on TVN until 2004 before moving to Canal 13 from 2004 to 2009, and finally to Mega, where it concluded in 2015.

Throughout his distinguished career, Landon received multiple accolades for his significant contributions to cultural broadcasting. He was honored with distinctions from CORFO and CONAF, and received the prestigious APES award in 1998, recognizing his impactful work in bringing the essence of Chile to television screens across the nation.
