Paulina Rubio wins legal battle against ex-husband 'Colate'; son to live with singer

Singer Paulina Rubio has won a legal battle against her ex-husband, Nicolás Vallejo-Nájera, also known as 'Colate'. A judge ruled that their 15-year-old son, Andrea Nicolás, will return to live with Rubio in Miami.

The decision came after months of hearings in the Miami Family Court. Both Rubio's and Vallejo-Nájera's legal teams presented evidence and arguments about why each parent was or was not fit to have custody. Rubio's lawyer, Sandra Hoyos, confirmed the singer won the case, expressing gratitude for the outcome.

Rubio had sought the child's return to Miami, reportedly concerned that his father was not imposing necessary restrictions, which she believed affected his upbringing. Vallejo-Nájera, an entrepreneur, had argued for the son to live in Madrid, citing his own stable financial situation and a supposedly fractured relationship between the child and his mother.

During the proceedings, Andrea Nicolás lived with a guardian. The judge, Marlene Fernández, ultimately made the decision for the child's residence. Hoyos emphasized that family court cases involve deep emotions and that public judgment can be unfair before justice is served. She thanked Rubio for her trust during the difficult process.
