Pavel and Toma collaborate on new timeless ballad 'Nedostajem ti tugo'

Croatian music group Pavel and singer Toma have joined forces to release a new song, 'Nedostajem ti tugo' (I Miss You, Sadness), a collaboration that blends nostalgic emotion with top-tier interpretation.

The song, a timeless ballad written by Aljoša Šerić, was premiered at the Melodije Jadrana festival. For Toma, this collaboration represents the fulfillment of a long-held desire to perform a vocal duet with Tonka, Pavel's lead singer. "Although I already have a songwriting collaboration with Aljoša on the song 'Voljet ćeš opet,' which won the Zagreb Festival, I've always wished for one that would put us on the same microphone. Tonka has one of the most special vocals on our scene, and it's an absolute honor for me to share this text and melody with her," Toma stated.

He expressed particular joy that the song debuted at Melodije Jadrana, a festival he is attending for the first time. "'Nedostajem ti tugo' is a song that transcends time and trends, and with it, Aljoša has once again confirmed that some of the best songs of our time come from his mind," Toma added.

Tonka revealed that the idea for the duet emerged after Toma and Aljoša's previous successful collaboration. "Toma is a great singer, and after his and Aljoša's collaboration at the Zagreb Festival, we agreed that we would definitely do a vocal collaboration with Pavel. I'm glad it's this song. Toma fit in beautifully and gave it a special emotion, and since we both love Melodije Jadrana very much, we agreed there's no better place to promote the song," she said.

The song's author, Aljoša Šerić, described its atmosphere: "The song sounds old, it could have been written 70 years ago. It smells of taverns, Brut, and tobacco. I'm sure someone already sang it back then at closing time and forgot to record or write it down. Then it came to me." The music video for 'Nedostajem ti tugo' was directed by Radislav Jovanov Gonzo.
