Pavel receives Armenian president and praises efforts to reduce dependence on Russia

Czech President Petr Pavel praised Armenia’s efforts to build wider economic and security ties and reduce its dependence on Russia after meeting Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan at Prague Castle.

Pavel made the remarks to journalists at a news conference following Thursday’s talks. The Czech president highlighted Armenia’s attempts to expand its relationships beyond its existing reliance on Russia.

The meeting focused on Armenia’s efforts to develop connections with other countries in both the economic and security spheres.
