PDIP Sentil Manuver Politik Jokowi, PSI Umumkan Siap Tarung 2029

The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) has criticized President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) perceived support for the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), suggesting it is a political maneuver to advance his children's political careers ahead of the 2029 elections. PDIP's presidential candidate for the 2024 election, Ganjar Pranowo, stated that while PDIP respects every citizen's right to associate, they do not interfere in other parties' internal affairs.

However, PDIP politician Guntur Romli was more direct, accusing Jokowi of engaging in political campaigning for his sons. Romli specifically pointed to Jokowi's backing of PSI, led by his son Kaesang Pangarep, and the potential political future of his other son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka. Romli controversially described Jokowi as acting as a "party servant" for PSI, exploiting his position for electoral gain, a stark contrast to his previous role as a "party officer" for PDIP.

Romli asserted that PDIP's relationship with Jokowi effectively ended with his dismissal from the party in late 2024 and that Jokowi's political activities do not impact PDIP. He also cautioned other political parties that might align with Jokowi, noting that recent alliances have been formed with parties outside of PDIP.

Barus suggested that PDIP's continued focus on Jokowi's actions indicates their lingering attachment despite claims of indifference. He also criticized PDIP's internal management of its politicians.

Barus expressed confidence in PSI's prospects for the 2029 elections, stating that the party is ready to compete and even challenge PDIP. He believes that PDIP's current "grieving" state, following Jokowi's departure, will hinder their performance, making PSI a strong contender in the upcoming political contest.
