PDP affirms Emmanuel Bwacha as Taraba governorship candidate

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially affirmed Emmanuel Bwacha as its sole candidate for the governorship of Taraba State. The affirmation ceremony took place in Jalingo on Monday, overseen by the party's State Working Committee and officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Muhammad Danlami, the PDP's state legal adviser, confirmed that the process adhered to Section 87(3) of the Electoral Act and the party's guidelines, which permit affirmation when a party has only one aspirant. This procedure allows for the consensus endorsement of a candidate.

Following his affirmation, Bwacha addressed party members, outlining his vision for Taraba State. He pledged to focus on infrastructure development, economic growth, and improving the welfare of citizens if elected governor. Bwacha highlighted the state's abundant human and natural resources, stating his administration would prioritize transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance.

Bwacha also committed to promoting agriculture, youth empowerment, and education as key strategies to reposition Taraba for sustainable development. He emphasized the need for purposeful leadership to unite the state and drive progress across all sectors.
