Penghu County Celebrates Grandparents' Day with Intergenerational Event

Penghu County hosted a vibrant celebration for Grandparents' Day, bringing together nearly 100 families for an event themed "Generations United, Happiness Together." Held at the Xiewei New Activity Center, the occasion aimed to foster stronger bonds between grandparents and grandchildren through shared activities and mutual learning.

Vice County Magistrate Lin Chieh-hsing emphasized the foundational role of family in society, acknowledging the cherished memories that grandparents provide. He expressed hope that the Grandparents' Day event would encourage three generations to engage more actively, increasing interaction and companionship. The goal is to deepen emotional connections and promote harmonious family relationships.

Family is the most important cornerstone of society, and the strong shoulders and kind smiles of grandparents are the most precious memories of many people's childhood and growth.

During the event, Lin Chieh-hsing presented awards to recognize outstanding contributions. Zhongxing Elementary School received the "Penghu County Outstanding Group Award for Promoting Family Education" for its sustained efforts. Additionally, students were honored as "Filial Piety Role Models" for Penghu County. Award recipients included Lin Hsin-yu from Huxi Junior High School, Chang Pin-cheng from Baisha Junior High School, Chen Jung-hsing from Wang'an Junior High School, Tsai Yi-chieh and Chao Tzu-tang from Zhongzheng Elementary School, Chen Yu-fei from Shanshui Elementary School, Yin Pei-yun from Fengkuei Elementary School, Hsueh Hui-hsin from Nei'an Elementary School, Chung Tzu-yin from Cimei Elementary School, Kuo Yu-chen from Jiangjun Elementary School, and Ko Chien-hui from Huayu Elementary School.
