Penghu volunteer rescue team leader wins national elite award

Gao Huijuan, the leader of the Pengnan ambulance team in Penghu, has been honored with the National Elite Rescue Volunteer Award. This prestigious recognition from Taiwan's Ministry of the Interior's Fire Agency acknowledges her extensive service and dedication to emergency medical care. Since joining the Penghu County Volunteer Firefighting Organization in 2006, Gao has accumulated an impressive 1,254 hours of service in pre-hospital emergency care.

Her commitment extends beyond direct medical assistance. Gao has actively participated in rescue missions, public awareness campaigns, and professional training. During her tenure as a team officer and later as team leader, she has consistently led by example, demonstrating a selfless spirit and unwavering dedication to protecting the lives and safety of the public. Her efforts have not only enhanced her own skills and those of the Pengnan team but have also contributed to the Penghu County Fire Department's consistent high performance in rescue evaluations over the years.

He stated that Gao's national honor is a source of pride for Penghu's fire services and all its volunteer rescuers. Xu encouraged other volunteers to emulate Gao's example and called for more individuals to join the volunteer firefighting ranks to collectively safeguard their community.
