People Power Party Launches Jang Dong-hyuk-led Election Committee Amidst Internal Dissent

The People Power Party has moved to solidify its election campaign structure, announcing a central election committee that places Chairman Jang Dong-hyuk at its helm. This move, intended to streamline operations as the June 3 local elections approach, has, however, been met with internal dissent.

Supreme Council member Woo Jae-joon, identified with the pro-Han Dong-hoon faction, publicly voiced his displeasure, claiming he had not consented to his appointment as a co-chair. His statement, released via Facebook, highlighted a lack of consultation and suggested that discussions were needed regarding the appropriate composition of the election committee, particularly given concerns from candidates in the Seoul metropolitan area.
