Perfume thefts across Zagreb: Two arrested, over 237 items stolen

Two young men, aged 18 and 19, are facing multiple charges after a months-long spree of perfume thefts across Zagreb. Police have linked them to a total of 16 counts of theft and aggravated theft, with investigations ongoing for a 25-year-old suspect and an unidentified male accomplice.

Authorities believe the suspects targeted stores in central and New Zagreb, primarily during afternoon hours, between late September 2025 and May 2026. They would allegedly enter shops, grab perfumes from shelves, and flee. The value of the stolen fragrances is estimated at around 34,624 euros, with over 237 items taken.

The 18-year-old suspect is particularly noted for his involvement in all 16 alleged crimes, even while being a minor at the time of some offenses. He acted alone in seven instances and with others in the remaining cases. The 19-year-old also faces an additional charge of coercion against a public official after allegedly refusing to stop for a police officer on June 6 and then physically assaulting the officer while attempting to escape.
