Person of interest identified in Edmonton alleged child luring case

Edmonton police have identified a person of interest in an alleged child luring incident that targeted two 14-year-old girls on June 14. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities seeking public assistance to gather more information.

The girls were walking in the southwest area of the city when they were reportedly shouted at by men inside a grey Chrysler Pacifica van. The van, described as having heavily tinted windows and five to six males aged 30 to 40, was seen driving erratically with its side door open. The suspects attempted to lure the girls into the vehicle.

Police released images of the van and a second silver vehicle potentially involved, along with a photo of the person of interest believed to be driving the second vehicle. The parents of one of the girls expressed heightened concern when the van circled back towards them. A nearby woman called 911 as the girls fled and the van sped away. The investigation continues, and police urge anyone with information to come forward.
