Peugeot's Updated 208 Hatchback Launches in Taiwan with Hybrid Power and Enhanced Efficiency

Peugeot has officially launched its facelifted 208 compact hatchback in Taiwan, introducing a comprehensive refresh of its exterior and interior design. The car also features Peugeot's latest P2 Hybrid powertrain, which promises enhanced fuel efficiency.

The updated 208 achieved a fuel consumption rating of 24.6 km/L, securing a Class 1 energy efficiency grade from Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs. This highlights the "little lion king's" commitment to economy.

Visually, the new 208 adopts Peugeot's modern family design, characterized by a larger radiator grille and distinctive LED daytime running lights that resemble lion's claws. Inside, the cabin features the signature i-Cockpit digital environment, complete with a groundbreaking 3D Quartz stereoscopic display for the head-up instrument panel, aiming to create a more immersive driving experience.

A significant upgrade is the 1.2-liter P2 Hybrid engine, delivering a combined output of 136 horsepower and 23.5 kg-m of torque. Paired with an eDCS six-speed dual-clutch transmission, it enables a 0-100 km/h sprint in 8.1 seconds and offers pure electric driving capability, contributing to its excellent fuel economy. The rear design echoes the front with horizontal, three-claw light strips.
