PHOTO Bad Blue Boys paid homage to tragically deceased fan with grand choreography

The Bad Blue Boys, the most fervent supporters of Dinamo Zagreb, paid a touching tribute to Matija Vranić, a 19-year-old fan who tragically lost his life in a traffic accident. The gesture took place during a recent match at Maksimir Stadium.

In the 19th minute of the game, precisely to commemorate Vranić's age, the north stand erupted in a large-scale choreography. The display featured a prominent image of Matija, affectionately known as "Mata," accompanied by the heartfelt message "Naš dragi Mata" (Our dear Mata).

The crowd united in song, honoring the memory of the young fan who was also a footballer for the lower-league club NK Duga Resa. Vranić died when the driver of the car he was in lost control, veered off the road, and crashed into a concrete pillar. The 19-year-old driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol, and a criminal complaint has been filed against him.

Dinamo Zagreb opened their new HNL season with a 2-0 victory against Slaven Belupo, but the fan tribute highlighted the community's enduring memory of Matija Vranić.
