For the first time in World Cup history, the final match featured a halftime music show, mirroring the spectacle of the American Super Bowl. The extended performance, lasting over 20 minutes, saw a star-studded lineup take the stage at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

Global music icons Madonna, Shakira, Justin Bieber, and the K-pop group BTS were among the featured artists. Madonna was joined by Brazilian football legends Ronaldo and Ronaldinho. The event also included Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 choir, and even Sesame Street characters.

Justin Bieber expressed his gratitude for participating, noting the show's contribution to expanding educational access for children worldwide. FIFA itself hailed the program as a "significant celebration at the intersection of sport, music, and global impact."

The ceremony also featured pre-match entertainment from artists like Post Malone and Tony Bennett, and a special appearance by Oscar winner Tom Cruise. Cruise spoke about the event's unifying power, bringing together fans from over 48 countries. FIFA President Gianni Infantino highlighted the ceremony's role in setting the tone for the final, uniting the passion of 48 teams and millions of fans.

This World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, also featured separate opening ceremonies in each country. Mexico's ceremony highlighted Shakira, while Toronto saw performances by Michael Bublé and Alanis Morissette, and Los Angeles hosted Katy Perry and Lisa from Blackpink. This follows similar halftime shows at recent FIFA events, including the Club World Cup and the Champions League final.
