Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, paid a condolence visit to former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, following the recent death of her husband, Anthony Adeniyi “Niyi” Adeosun. The visit was disclosed by the governor in a statement released on Monday.

During the visit, we conveyed our heartfelt condolences to Mrs Adeosun, her children and the entire Adeosun family over this painful and profound loss.

Niyi Adeosun, described as a reputable businessman and devoted Christian, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in Lagos State at the age of 62. During the visit, Governor Abiodun conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Adeosun, her children, and the entire Adeosun family.

He further described the deceased as "a respected businessman and devoted Christian who lived a life of faith, service and commitment to his family."

Governor Abiodun offered prayers for divine comfort and strength for the bereaved family, asking for the fortitude to bear their irreparable loss. He also prayed for the repose of Mr. Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun's soul, asking for eternal rest. The Adeosun family had previously announced the death through a statement issued by Rev. C. A. Adeosun, highlighting the deceased's positive impact on those who knew him.
