Pingtung City Gifts School Supplies to First-Graders

Pingtung City is offering a warm welcome to its newest first-grade students with a thoughtful back-to-school gift package. Approximately 1,331 children are transitioning from kindergarten to elementary school this year, a significant milestone for both students and their families.

Recognizing the financial and practical challenges parents face in preparing for this transition, the Pingtung City government, led by Mayor Chou Chia-chi, has provided essential school supplies and tableware. The initiative aims to alleviate some of the burden on parents and ensure children have the necessary tools for their academic journey.

Mayor Chou Chia-chi personally delivered the gift packages, emphasizing the city's dedication to local education and its deep care for the students. The thoughtfully curated items include a canvas tote bag, pencils, a ruler, an eraser, a pencil case, crayons, and a stainless steel lunch set. These selections prioritize safety and environmental friendliness, encouraging good habits from the start.
