Pingtung County offers diverse summer activities to attract tourists

Pingtung County is gearing up to welcome the summer tourism season with an extensive calendar of events designed to showcase the region's diverse attractions. From July through August, visitors can immerse themselves in a variety of cultural, artistic, and entertainment experiences spanning the county's mountains, coastlines, and urban centers.

A major highlight is the "2026 Pingtung Summer Carnival," set to begin July 4th at the Pingtung County Hall Park. This year's carnival will feature a special collaboration with the popular Japanese anime "Crayon Shin-chan," offering themed exhibitions and an immersive amusement space. Additionally, the Haikou Art Museum in Checheng will host a solo exhibition by renowned Japanese illustrator mifune starting August 7th, presenting interactive displays that resonate with everyday life.

Market enthusiasts can explore various themed bazaars. The "Ping Flower" market, focusing on flowers, food, and cultural crafts, will kick off the series from July 3rd to 5th. The popular Shengli Victory Village will host three "Old Good Victory" markets, including a second-hand goods market promoting reuse and recycling on August 15th, and a "NEKO MARKET" featuring pet-friendly items and handmade crafts at the end of August.

Cultural performances are also a significant part of the summer program. The Hengchun Cultural Center will host several concerts, including performances by the band "Ya Man" and Golden Melody Award winner Cao Ya-wen. The Pingtung Tobacco Factory 1936 Cultural Site will offer "PT Night School Club 1936," combining music, performances, and night tours. Furthermore, the county is collaborating with the National Space Organization to host the "Taiwan Rocket Competition" from July 24th to 26th in Xuhai, complete with a rocket launch party on July 25th. International summer camps and local development programs are also on offer, highlighting Pingtung's commitment to talent cultivation and international engagement.
