Pingtung County promotes student summer international exchange, with 3 programs sending high schoolers to US and Europe in August

Pingtung County is actively fostering international educational exchanges for its students this summer. Following a successful English camp held in collaboration with Canada's Coquitlam School District, the county's education department announced three upcoming overseas exchange programs scheduled for August.

These initiatives aim to broaden students' global perspectives. The "Pingtung County High School Youth Ambassadors" program will send 16 students to Delaware County, Pennsylvania, from August 6 to August 21. This trip focuses on exploring sustainable education and deepening educational ties with the sister city.

Another program, "North American Youth Dream Chasing," will involve 32 high school students visiting New York, New Jersey, and Orange County from August 24 to September 4. This exchange will focus on exploring businesses, cultural organizations, sports, and NGOs.

Additionally, under the Ministry of Education's "Youth Hundred Billion Overseas Dream Realization Plan," 20 students will travel to five major German cities, Munich, Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Heidelberg, and Frankfurt, for over 10 days. This trip centers on exploring the green energy and sustainable automotive industries. Seven of these students are from Pingtung County's high schools and universities.

The recently concluded summer English camp, which ran for two sessions, hosted 120 elementary and junior high school students. Taught by Canadian instructors, the camp provided an immersive English learning environment covering Canadian culture, music, dance, festivals, and geography, aiming to enhance students' listening, speaking, and confidence.
