Pingzhen District Welcomes New Er22 Park, Opening in September

Pingzhen District in Taoyuan City is set to welcome its newest public space, Er22 Park, with construction now complete and an anticipated opening in September. The park, built on a 0.35-hectare site formerly belonging to a nursing college, is designed to be a vibrant hub for the community.

The new facility boasts age-specific, inclusive play areas catering to children aged 2 to 12, alongside a fully accessible pathway system and comfortable seating. Eco-conscious design principles are integrated throughout, including the use of native plants to create a layered green environment and a wetland garden that utilizes recycled rainwater for irrigation. This approach not only enhances the park's aesthetic appeal but also supports local biodiversity and reduces environmental impact.

Funded with approximately NT$29.47 million, the park's development was overseen by Yongquan Landscape Consultant Co., Ltd. for design and supervision, and Youteng Landscape Engineering Co., Ltd. for construction. The project aims to provide a safe and engaging recreational environment for students from the nearby Shanfeng Elementary School and residents of the surrounding neighborhoods. By connecting the park to the school and community, it also enhances pedestrian safety for schoolchildren.
