Pipeline relocation delays water shutdown for more than 3,000 households in Luzhu and Dayuan to Sept. 3

More than 3,000 households in six villages across Taoyuan’s Luzhu and Dayuan districts will face a 15-hour water shutdown on Sept. 3, after planned work was postponed from Aug. 26.

Taiwan Water Corporation’s Second District Management Office will carry out pipeline disconnection and relocation work in Dayuan District as part of the D1 section of the Taoyuan Aerotropolis project. The shutdown will run from 9 a.m. until midnight.

The affected areas include Zhongyou Street in Luzhu and Sanshi, Wuquan, Puxin, Dahai and Guolin villages in Dayuan. Residents in the affected areas have been urged to store water beforehand and switch off water pump power during the outage to protect electrical and water safety.

Taoyuan’s Department of Economic Development said construction of a drainage box culvert and collector pipe along Section 1 of Zhongzheng East Road conflicts with an existing 500-millimeter PSCP water pipe. The department said it will continue urging the water company to finish the work and restore service as quickly as possible.
