Planning Minister: Current international situation confirms the necessity of activating regional blocs

Egypt's Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Ahmed Rustom, stressed the critical need to activate regional blocs in the current international climate. He argued that these alliances are essential for harnessing the promising potential of developing and emerging economies, enabling them to play a more effective role in driving global trade, which has faced significant disruptions in recent years.

During a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Mikayil Jabbarov, Rustom underscored Egypt's commitment to enhancing economic and developmental relations with Azerbaijan. He noted the continuous momentum in bilateral ties, supported by strong political will and reciprocal visits between the leaderships of both nations. The minister also provided an overview of Egypt's ongoing structural reform program, designed to bolster the resilience of its national economy.

The discussions between the two ministers focused on avenues for consolidating joint economic relations and deepening regional integration, aligning with the development priorities of both Egypt and Azerbaijan.
