Players Cool Down and Replenish Electrolytes at Vietnam Workers' Football Tournament

Under the prolonged hot sun of the Southern Vietnam qualifiers for the 2026 Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants Football Tournament, players are finding ways to cool down and replenish electrolytes to maintain their performance in intense matches. After three days of lively competition at Ton Duc Thang University Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, four outstanding teams have secured their spots in the semifinals.

Beyond the exciting matchups, the scorching weather, with temperatures peaking at 35 degrees Celsius, presented a significant challenge for the athletes. To mitigate the effects of the heat, the organizers implemented "cooling breaks" during matches, allowing players crucial time to recover. Hydration was also readily available at the technical areas, enabling teams to replenish fluids throughout the competition.

Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam, through its brands Aquafina and Revive Active Pro, supported the players. Revive Active Pro, in particular, offers 7 essential ions and B vitamins to aid in rapid rehydration and restore stamina, helping players maintain endurance. The tournament's final day of the Southern qualifiers, featuring two semifinal matches and the championship final, is scheduled for June 10.

Organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour in coordination with Tuổi Trẻ Newspaper and the Vietnam Football Federation, the 2026 tournament marks its fourth edition. It has become a prestigious annual event for workers nationwide, attracting 48 teams. The competition aims to boost sports activities and enhance the cultural and spiritual well-being of laborers and society at large. The total prize pool is 900 million Vietnamese dong, with the national champion receiving 200 million dong. This year marks the fourth consecutive year THACO Group serves as the diamond sponsor, alongside partners like Revive Sport Drink and Dong Luc Sports Group.
