Playmobil releases 'Black Forest Couple' set with newlywed 'Schwarzwald Marie'

A new Playmobil special edition set, "Schwarzwaldpaar" (Black Forest Couple), has been released, featuring the popular "Schwarzwald Marie" figure now depicted as a married woman. The set includes Marie and her husband Hannes, presented in traditional Black Forest attire.

Marie's costume reflects her marital status, with black pom-poms on her hat, a customary detail for married women wearing traditional dress in the region. Her husband, Hannes, is also dressed traditionally, though his attire is not a specific "marriage costume." He is shown holding a trumpet.

The "Schwarzwaldpaar" set is available for purchase starting immediately, with an initial production run of approximately 30,000 units. It can be found in Baiersbronn and other selected locations. This release follows the significant popularity of the "Schwarzwald Marie" figure, first introduced in 2023. Two previous editions sold out quickly, with only a few remaining copies available.

While Marie is now available as part of the couple's set, she will also continue to be sold individually as a single woman, identifiable by her red pom-pom hat. Hannes, however, is exclusively available within the "Schwarzwaldpaar" set. He was chosen as Marie's partner from three potential candidates through a social media campaign.
