Plenković announces major defense investment: Beretta to build ammunition factory in Obrovac

Prime Minister Andrej Plenković has announced a major defense investment that will see the Italian company Beretta establish an ammunition factory in Obrovac, Croatia. This move is expected to significantly boost the country's defense manufacturing capabilities.

The announcement was made alongside plans to commemorate key dates in Croatia's recent history. These include Victory Day, Homeland Thanksgiving Day, Croatian Defenders Day, and the 31st anniversary of the military-and-police operation Storm, all to be observed on August 5 in Knin.

The establishment of Beretta's factory represents a strategic step for Croatia, aiming to strengthen its defense sector. The investment is anticipated to create jobs and enhance the nation's self-sufficiency in ammunition production, aligning with broader European efforts to bolster defense readiness.
