PM Modi interacts with fresh BJP team amid upcoming polls and ‘Vande Mataram’ row

Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with the newly appointed national office-bearers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the party headquarters, stressing the importance of fresh ideas and perspectives to bolster the party's strength and its connection with the populace.

"Organisational meetings are all about new ideas and perspectives aimed at strengthening the Party and deepening connect with the people. Great interaction with fellow Party colleagues and the new organisational team!," Modi stated in a post on X, formerly Twitter. A party functionary privy to the discussions revealed that the Prime Minister shared insights designed to further enhance the party's organization and its outreach to citizens.

The BJP recently announced a list of 65 new office bearers, who convened their first closed-door meeting with party president Nitin Nabin. According to sources familiar with the proceedings, Nabin urged the team to maintain a strong focus on nationalism and to actively engage in poll-bound states including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur, and Goa.

Furthermore, the party passed a resolution concerning the honor of 'Vande Mataram', the national song. A campaign is set to be launched to counter what the BJP perceives as the Congress party's "appeasement politics" and alleged disrespect towards the national song. This move signals a strategic effort to mobilize support by leveraging nationalist sentiments ahead of upcoming elections.

Nabin also reminded the new office-bearers that their positions do not diminish their responsibilities as party workers ('karyakarta'). He stressed the need for them to work with the same fervor and zeal as before, ensuring continuity in the party's grassroots efforts.
