PM Shehbaz calls for comprehensive strategy to boost SMEs’ access to financing

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for a comprehensive strategy to enhance financing access for Pakistan's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). During a review meeting of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Smeda) in Islamabad, Sharif stressed the need for greater facilitation in extending loans to SMEs to bolster the country's exports.

He directed Smeda, in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan and commercial banks, to formulate this strategy. The initiative aims to support SMEs in increasing their productive capacity. Special attention will be given to farmers, providing them with awareness and access to financing for processing agricultural produce.
