PM Shehbaz launches initiatives to boost youth opportunities

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif marked International Youth Day 2026 by inaugurating a suite of initiatives aimed at empowering Pakistan's youth. The launch event in Islamabad on August 12 introduced the Power Sector Innovation Programme, the National Youth Employment Policy, and the Skills Ambassador Programme, signaling a commitment to fostering opportunities for young Pakistanis.

The ceremony also served to celebrate academic excellence, highlighting high-achieving students from Daanish schools. These institutions, known for providing quality education, were represented by students whose achievements underscore the potential within the country's youth.

Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, lauded Prime Minister Sharif's dedication. Khan recalled the premier's past efforts in creating youth opportunities during his tenure as chief minister of Punjab and emphasized his current leadership in driving Pakistan's progress. "The world is talking about Pakistan’s progress today," Khan stated, attributing this positive international attention to Sharif's vision and governance.

Khan expressed confidence in the nation's forward momentum under Sharif's leadership, asserting that the country's advancement is unstoppable. The initiatives launched aim to equip young people with the skills and employment pathways necessary to contribute to and benefit from Pakistan's ongoing development.
