PNG reaffirms commitment to stronger ties with partners

Papua New Guinea has reaffirmed its commitment to building robust international ties and engaging constructively with global partners. This stance was clearly articulated during the fifth Papua New Guinean-European Business Forum held last week. Minister for Foreign Affairs Justin Tkatchenko addressed delegates, highlighting the nation's appreciation for foreign investment that adheres to responsible practices. He stressed that such investments should respect national laws, prioritize environmental protection, support local employment opportunities, and contribute to capacity building and technology transfer. "PNG values responsible foreign investment which respects national laws, protects the environment, supports local employment, builds capacity, transfers technology and skills, and contributes to long-term development aspirations," Tkatchenko stated.
