Poland says it arrested Russian hired to kill 'inconvenient' Ukrainian-American citizen

Polish authorities have arrested a Russian national suspected of plotting to assassinate a Ukrainian-American dual citizen in Warsaw. Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the arrest on Thursday, stating that the Russian intelligence services recruited the suspect.

Tusk revealed that the Russian citizen was detained on August 7. He was allegedly hired to kill a man considered "inconvenient to the Putin regime." The target held both Ukrainian and U.S. passports, though his identity was not disclosed. Tusk credited the "brilliant action" of Poland's Internal Security Agency and police for preventing the assassination.
