Polda Metro Jaya Celebrates Indonesian Independence with Art and MSME Festival

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) marked Indonesia's 81st Independence Day with a vibrant celebration, hosting an MSME festival and art competitions. The event, held at the Polda Metro Jaya headquarters, aimed to infuse the anniversary with creativity and community spirit under the theme "Painting Hope, Celebrating Independence."

The festival provided a platform for diverse participants, including children, young people, and individuals with disabilities, to express their patriotism and aspirations for Indonesia through artistic endeavors. A total of 76 participants competed across three categories: drawing for elementary school students, painting for junior and senior high school students, and a painting category specifically for people with disabilities.

Chief of Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Inspector General Pol Asep Edi Suheri, and Deputy Chief, Brigadier General Pol Dekananto Eko Purwono, personally observed the competitions, offering encouragement to the participants. The Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, Police Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated that the event was designed to be inclusive, allowing various segments of society to engage in the commemoration.

One participant, Yayang Oktavian, who has a disability, expressed his joy at being included, stating, "I feel happy because as a person with a disability, I was invited to participate in this event. This activity can also train the mind. Hopefully, Polda Metro Jaya will be even more victorious in the future, continue to develop, and be responsible in its duties."

Alongside the art competitions, the festival included an MSME bazaar showcasing a variety of local products. This initiative aimed to promote community businesses and stimulate economic growth. Polda Metro Jaya hopes the event serves not only as a celebration but also as a means to strengthen unity, nurture creativity, support MSMEs, and enhance nationalistic spirit.
